The accuracy of the method is assessed in three different ways.
First the false positive and missed detection ratios are
determined. Secondly the fiber size distribution is compared to
that found by a manual procedure. Finally, the bias introduced by
the automatic procedure is compared to the bias due to an
arbitrary sampling.
