Overview of the Database files

All database file names have the aa_nn_x.zzz structure, where :

These files are organized into several directories and different UNIX tar files (recorded onto 8mm tapes) associated to each database shot :

   tar file 1 ./m2fdb/
                         ./m2fdb/aa/
                             ./m2fdb/aa/aa_01_i.txt
                             ./m2fdb/aa/aa_01_m.lcc
                             ./m2fdb/aa/aa_01_n.lcc
                             ./m2fdb/aa/aa_01_v.lcc
                             ./m2fdb/aa/aa_01_v.raw
                         ./m2fdb/bb/
                             ./m2fdb/bb/bb_01_i.txt
                             ./m2fdb/bb/bb_01_m.lcc
                             (...)
   tar file 2 (...)
   tar file 3 (...)
   tar file 4 (...)

   tar file 5 ./m2fdb/
                         ./m2fdb/aa/
                             ./m2fdb/aa/aa_05_i.txt
                             ./m2fdb/aa/aa_05_m.lcc
                             ./m2fdb/aa/aa_05_n.lcc
                             ./m2fdb/aa/aa_05_v.lcc

                         ./m2fdb/bb/
                             ./m2fdb/bb/bb_05_v.raw
                             (...)

A TEST.lcc file provides two test patterns that have been shot using the same environment (same camera, same lighting, same grabber) as for the other images of the database. The first pattern tests the horizontal resolution of the camera (2.5/3/3.5/4/4.5/5 MHz), while the second can help you with colour calibration. From these tests, the resolution of our system appears to be about 3 MHz, which rates high for the CIF-like format considered here.

A listing of all subject IDs can be found here.

The disk space required to load each database shot is listed here.
